Boutique by design, not by circumstance.
VieKey Consulting is a Luxembourg advisory practice built around one idea: for a well-defined regulatory or structuring question, a single senior consultant is often the fastest and most reliable format there is.
The practice works for organisations that need the analysis and are lean enough to feel the difference between advice and throughput: management companies and AIFMs, corporate service providers and fiduciaries, law firms that refer or overflow, industrial and energy groups with a CBAM exposure, and Luxembourg SMEs. Luxembourg-based; engagements delivered across the EU, the UK and Switzerland.
Senior-only, direct, and honest about what it is
The practice takes on matters where seniority is the product — perimeter calls, structuring decisions, remediation plans, the questions where the value is in the judgement rather than the page count. There is no pyramid: the person you brief is the person who does the analysis, drafts the output, and stands behind it.
VieKey works as a senior peer to in-house teams and law firms, not a replacement for them. Where a matter needs a legal opinion, a filing, or regulated services, we say so early and work alongside the firms that provide them. See who we work with.
One habit runs through everything the practice produces: black-letter law, regulator practice, and market practice are distinguished and stated separately, because they are not the same thing — and most expensive surprises live in the gaps between them.
Slava Volotovsky
Slava Volotovsky is a Luxembourg-based consultant and the principal of VieKey Consulting. His work spans financial services regulation and compliance — CSSF practice, MiFID II, the Prospectus Regulation, Euro MTF listings, AML/KYC — Luxembourg securitisation and structuring under the 2004 Law, institutional tokenisation and DLT, carbon and energy markets including CBAM and the EU ETS, and risk and operational consulting for regulated businesses, including AI-driven automation.
The combination is deliberate. Tokenised issuance is a securities question before it is a technology question; CBAM is a trading-desk question before it is an environmental one; and nearly everything above eventually becomes a structuring question in Luxembourg. Clients get one desk that covers the intersection instead of three advisers covering a corner each.
His background includes over a decade in accounting, compliance and administration at leading firms, including Deloitte and Ernst & Young, and a CPA (retired). VieKey Consulting is a member of the Association Luxembourgeoise des mandataires de Justice (ALMJ), INSOL Europe, the Receivables Management Association International, the Institut Luxembourgeois des Administrateurs (ILA), the Institute for Financial Integrity and Sustainability (IFIS), the Luxembourg Association of Compliance Officers (ALCO), and the Association pour la Protection des Données au Luxembourg (APDL). Representative matters are on the matters page.
How engagements work
- A short scoping call. Twenty minutes. You describe the question; we tell you whether it fits the practice, what an answer would involve, and — where relevant — that you do not need us. No follow-up sequence.
- A fixed scope. Deliverable, timeline and responsibilities set out in an engagement letter before work begins. Where the matter cannot be scoped up front, we say so and agree a bounded first phase instead.
- Delivery, without ceremony. The output is sized to the decision: sometimes a memorandum, often a two-page analysis and a call. Questions after delivery that fall within the scope are part of the engagement, not a change request.

The scoping call is the audition. Ours, not yours. A short call generally clarifies scope and feasibility.
