Developing an ERC-3643 pilot for tokenised securities

2026 — Luxembourg

In 2026 VieKey Consulting began designing a pilot for a tokenised financial instrument based on the ERC-3643 standard. The initial concept was a non-transferable token linked to the market price of EU emissions allowances, with controlled investor eligibility and daily price information.

The project brings together several areas of our work: Luxembourg securitisation, financial instruments, AML and KYC controls, EU carbon markets and distributed-ledger technology. The proposed architecture uses identity and eligibility controls so that the technology supports the legal structure rather than operating separately from it.

The pilot is structured to operate in accordance with MiFID II. At this stage the project remains at the planning phase — the design work is in place, and we are now seeking the right partners to take it toward implementation.

We are sharing this development because it turns tokenisation from a general research topic into a concrete design exercise. The pilot is intended to test how regulated securities can use blockchain infrastructure while retaining conventional documentation, governance and investor-protection controls.
